Whilst we are a networking group, first and foremost, we are all about supporting each other along the roller coaster of self employment. I design our events so you can grow your connections, find the support you’re looking for and have a lovely ol’ time whilst you’re doing it.

Why come to one of our events?

Working for and by yourself can be lonely. We all need people around us who:

Our friendly, female only, networking sessions are informal but that doesn’t mean business isn’t done. Members often buy from each other, collaborate on projects and recommend the people they meet.

A Goldfinch Gathering Event is:

  • Open and welcoming to any freelancers, solopreneurs and small business owners who identify as female
  • An open space space where you can share the highs and lows of running your business
  • Somewhere you can get support from other business owners and ask for advice
  • An opportunity to meet other like-minded people, with the potential to form friendships
  • A place to talk to others about what you do & build your confidence in networking with others
  • An opportunity to grow your business through recommendations and referrals (once people get to know, like and trust you)

A Goldfinch Gathering Event is not:

  • A place to sell, sell, sell
  • Somewhere to blindly hand out business cards to everyone in the room (in fact, I rarely bring any)
  • All about you, we're there to support each other and build relationships not talk constantly about our business
  • An opportunity to simply grow your phone book or email list without building genuine connections
  • Just another networking group to add to your diary, filled with all the same people every time
  • Open to representatives of organisations or charities - we are for business owners/freelancers/creatives only
  • Tolerant of bad behaviour, rudeness or discrimination of any kind
  • For everyone (and that's fine)
